Studio One 4.1 Update

Studio One 4.1 Update

PreSonus has begun to ship version 4.1 of Studio 4 which is an update to its top-rated music production Digital Audio Workstation for Mac and Windows. The new Studio One 4.1 version covers both the Artist and the professional versions. Studio One 4.1 is also free of charge for users who are registered.

Updates to Pipeline XT

Pipeline XT is a plugin of Studio One which gives you the ability for your sessions to incorporate hardware processors with automatic compensation for latency. With this new update. Pipeline XT now comes with a new user interface which makes it easier to use. Several other new features have also been added to improve Pipeline XT as follows:

  • You now have the ability to measure latency and automatic compensation for latency can now be done with just a single click after which you can make the necessary adjustments manually.
  • The highest possible delay has now been increased. It used to be at 5000 samples but has now gone up to 32,000 samples.
  • Mono sends can now be done without the loss of an additional hardware output and this is now supported by the stereo plugin.
  • It is now possible for snapshots to be captured of the external effects processor. The snapshot can then be dragged and dropped in the central display of Pipeline XT so that hardware settings that are captured can be used at a subsequent time for a manual recall.
  • Text notes can now be added to your presets using the newly added notepad. This is so that setup instructions/commands can be documented, including the parameter settings that are meant for your hardware processor. Presets can then be used to save everything.

Tempo track editing

With the new Studio One Version 4.1, editing tempo tracks are quicker and even better. Using the automation tools meant for ramps, and curves and also better sleeker adjustments, it is now possible for you to edit tempo. In order to prevent the grid from always jumping under the pointer of the mouse, it now possible for you to shift between the normally existing time-linear timebase and the beat-linear timebase. The display range of the tempo track can now be narrowed to a range that makes more meaning musically. This is done to improve and enhance the editing and visibility of the tempo.

Improved DAWs compatibility

The process of switching between Studio One and other Digital Audio Workstations has now been simplified and made easier. Here are some great new improvements:

  • This because the new version now supports Advanced Authoring Format, popularly called AAF. The new export options of the Advanced Authoring Format have greatly improved the level of compatibility of Studio One with other Digital Audio Workstations.
  • It is now also possible audio files in WAV or AIFF formats to be embedded rather than just having them referenced.
  • Stereo tracks can now also be split.
  • Audio files can also be created either in WAV formats or in AIFF formats and you can decide your resolution choice and your choice of sample rate.
  • File sizes can now also be trimmed by simply doing away with regions which are unused.
  • You can decide to have pan automation exported or decide against it especially if the exportation is to an app which cannot recognize it. A new legacy mode has been added and you can use it to export pan automation only to an app which imports AAF 1.0.

Note Repeat is now totally remote-controllable

A lot of improvements have been made to Note Repeat and it can be totally controlled by remote through the use of any MIDI controller. It also has been newly equipped with its own section located right in the Record Panel. Here are also some great things you can do:

  • Now you can turn it on or off, choose your preferred repeat rate, and Note Erase can also now be turned on or off.
  • Notes can now have their gate time set while the velocity of the note can be controlled by using key pressure or with the use of poly pressure.
  • Just like Quantize which is found in Impact XT, on the song grid, it is now possible for notes to be quantized. Whenever Quantize is turned off, a key or a pad automatically activates notes.
  • Using a keyboard control, it is now possible to control every repeat function of notes

New DPI Scaling

A new DPI scaling option has been added to the new version 4.1. This option is basically for 3rd-party plugins which are compatible with Windows 10. This new feature enables them to adopt the normal size which the user expects and it also offers other enhancements.
